Goal list update

1. Learn to play the guitar (that one is a big one...probably won't get done, but it is a wish list after all) (I can now play the cords G, C, D, D7, G7, A, A7 and Em....lots more work to go)
2. Find and refinish an end table for the living room. (found! I found one at a garage sale I helped at last week. I painted it Tuesday and then today I glazed it. Tomorrow I will put clear coat on)
3. Paint some cute little shelves I got at the thrift store yesterday. (done....now to hang them up.)
4. Paint a little doll table set that I got at said thrift store. (This is a set for Kit) (check, all done with this. It looks much cuter in purple than it did in gold. Kit and Baby Mia have enjoyed several tea parties at this table already)
5. Help (???) Jason finish the bookshelf he is making for Rylan's room. I'm not sure how much help I will be there...maybe I can help him out with other stuff so he has more time : ) (It's assembled and in the room. It just needs the facing done now.)
6. Spend some time with my nieces and nephews. 3 nieces and one nephews are already scheduled for an overnight stay or two this June and we are looking forward to that. (We had a great time with one niece and nephew earlier this week. We went to get ice cream (both kids kept saying over and over again how Over the Top is the best ice cream place they have ever been to), went swimming, went to craft time at the library, played, went to the park...great fun!)
7. Clean out / organize the drawer where all the kids' school papers/pictures/random junk gets placed during the school year. The whole secretary needs organized, really. (Done with this one)

8. Reupholster the chair I got at Salvation Army yesterday. (Haven't started at all)

9. (I'm adding a few more items to the list) Paint the legs of the bench in the dining room

10. Paint the gold handle, strike plate and kick plate on the screen door. (I disassembled it and started painting today. I hope I can remember how it all went together. )

11. Plant something new by my front door as the plant that is currently in the planter has died

12. Paint the light fixtures in the upstairs hall

13. Paint the light fixture by the garage

14. Reevaluate the 'decorative items' in the living room.

The real reason for me posting is to help motivate me to not sit around searching for swagbucks all afternoon (not all afternoon perhaps, but too large a percentage of it.).

Happy Thursday!

  1. I don't use the word "amazing" very often, but I think you are especially motivated and organized. You seem to accomplish more in one day than I do in a week. And you're a wonderful wife and mother! You're amazing!!!

  2. WOW!!!! I am SUPER impressed. You are certainly using your time wisely.
I think you, perhaps, have your dad's blood running through your veins :-)
I probably wouldn't have ONE of those things done. PERHAPS started but definitely not finished. It's taken me weeks, so far, to paint the basement. I'm exhausted now after reading this. I must go take a nap ;-)

  3. I am so impressed with all you seem to be able to accomplish in a day! You are going to need to keep thinking of new projects if you keep working like this all summer.
My house is available for some projects if you get bored :)

  4. Oh my goodness!! I have never been a goal-setter... I wonder what I might get done if I made a list like this! It would be difficult for me to even think of very many things I want to get done, but I totally should. Inspiring!
Sounds like you're going to have a productive summer!
